Who we are

DIW Ltd is a specialist architectural aluminium glazing fabricator. We are based at Unit 41, Quibells Lane, Newark On Trent, Nottinghamshire, NG24 2AL. DIW Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 14633419.

DIW Ltd is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website (diwltd.co.uk). If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, you can contact us by email at enquiries@diwltd.co.uk or by telephone on 01636 550 208.

The information we collect

When you contact us through the enquiry form on this website, by email or by telephone, we may collect your name, company name, email address, telephone number and any details you give us about your project or enquiry, including any drawings or specifications you send.

Our web server and hosting provider also record standard technical information when you visit the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure and running properly.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotations, manage orders and deliver the products and services you have asked for. We may also use your contact details to follow up on a quotation or to keep you informed about a project you have placed with us.

We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to keep you updated.

Our lawful basis

Under UK data protection law we rely on the following lawful bases. Where you have asked us for a quotation or placed an order, we process your information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or to perform that contract. Where you contact us with a general enquiry, we process your information under our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business. Where we are required to keep records, for example for accounting purposes, we process your information to comply with our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share your information only where it is necessary to deal with your enquiry or order. This may include our website hosting and email providers, our accountants, and, where a project requires it, the system suppliers or delivery companies involved in fulfilling your order. We require anyone who handles information on our behalf to keep it secure and to use it only for the purpose we have set out.

We do not transfer your personal information outside the United Kingdom unless a service provider we use stores data elsewhere, in which case appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as is needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Where an enquiry leads to a quotation or order, we keep the related records for six years after the end of the project to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Technical logs held by our hosting provider are kept for a short period and then deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, to ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
